8) 2017 Honda Civic
Originally a subcompact car with a transverse engine and just two doors, the Civic has evolved through multiple generations and many variants, into the hatchback model now available.
The 2017 Civic hatch has aggressive styling, bold exterior lines and all the practicality of a car for daily use. Under the hood is a turbocharged 1.5 litre, four-cylinder, Honda engine with computer controlled direct injection. It produces 174 hp of peak output and gives the car a healthy balance of fuel economy and acceleration. Honda claims 30 mpg with the manual transmission Civic and slightly better with the 6-speed automatic.
The two-tone sporty interiors are designed for comfort and utility. Many of the most frequently used buttons have been provided right on the wheel. The rear half of the car provides versatile, flexible space. Depending on the model, the Civic is being offered with a range of optional extras, many of which are practical and desirable.
