Currently in its fifth generation, the Mercedes-Benz E-class fills the void between the larger S-class and the smaller C-class. Available in the US starting from $52,150, the E300 Sedan comes with a 2.0 litre inline 4 turbocharged gasoline engine with a peak output of 241 hp. The standard Mercedez-Benz 9 speed automatic transmission has been coupled with a rear wheel drive.

Manufacturers claim the car can get 22 miles to the gallon in the city. Always eager to put racing technology in their passenger road cars, Mercedes-Benz gave the E300 their Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and a 4 wheel electronic traction control system.

The E300 is the base variant of the 2017 E-class while the top variant is the AMG E43. Mercedes-Benz has updated their engine design with a shift from V6 diesels to inline 6 diesel engines, and a whole new generation of four cylinder petrol engines.

Models equipped with motion sensors, radars and cameras are partially capable of autonomous driving at highway speeds. The E300 remains highly customizable with a choice of seats, wheels, interior trim, colors, materials and much else.
